Worthwhile flash animation

I've got a book called "Teach Yourself Flash CS3 Professional in 24 Hours" Its not bad, but I'm 4 hours into it and exhausted. Plus I was starting to wonder what I could use flash for when I stumbled upon this little animation. Wow. That's pretty good.

A late posting

Obviously, its been since haloween that I posted, and I wanted to show how I decorate the yard for the night. I was realy wondering if all the weird stares I get from my neighbors is worth the hassle this year, but all night kids that came to the door kept saying "Your house is the coolest!" and "wow! this one is super spooky, it's the best!" and I knew that no matter what it feels like being the freak on the block, the kids get it and appreciate it! Sage didn't know quite what to go as for Haloween this year, so when I found a cheap makeup kit at Meijer for 5 bucks, I convinced him it was better than any store bought mask. His friends agreeed!
Everyone has to make their own apple ad. New class requirement. Thanks Jo.

Hillary Bush

Here's a candidate for the Blue Staters and The Red Staters! The perfect blend of Hillary Clinton and George Bush. It's spooky how much this looks like a real politician isn't it? Well if Hillary and George had a baby...(shudder)...this is what it would look like!

Veer Lightboxing

What a great idea this is! Two designers, one lightbox of five or six images, one type-style, and a single concept. The designers come up with a single page layout and are judged over who came up with the best design. Check it out here! Veer Lightboxing Also from the folks at Veer, new movie coming to DVD is called Helvetica, the Film Can they make an interesting documentary about one of the most neutral, basic, sans-serif typefaces of all time? I can't wait to see, and I hope for Christmas I get the Helveticup!
I'm kind of excited about this little photoshop. The guy as Vader is John C. Malone. He made his money when he was one of the heads of TCI cable wich was sold to ATT for 58 billion. He is currently the head of Liberty Media, which owns Starz and Encore movie channels,Home Shopping Network and QVC, Ticketmaster, Lending Tree, Citysearch, and others. He also owns more stock in News Corp (which owns FOX) than anyone without the last name Murdoch, and he currently owns nearly as much stock in Time Warner as Ted Turner. He has the nickname "Darth Vader" because of his relentless business tactics, and travels the country frequently in a relatively modest Winnebago. He is a huge player in the media market, but stays away from the spotlight. Pretty interesting guy. Anyway, I'm including a paper about him in the magazine for my DMED120 class. I'll post the finished article later.
color on this one ain't quite right either.
photoshop project for my other DMED class. this is a work in progress to make a magazine layout. The text is red in the jpeg I made on my computer at home, but when I post here at blogger, it's coming out blue when I view it here. When I get to class tonight I'll check the color on a mac. Hmmmmm.
I went to the cubs game on saturday. Took a bus trip with my son, my dad, and one of my best friends. Great day, lots of fun, and on the bus ride home I thought about how funny it is when grown men get together and talk baseball like we are still little kids. I threw this picture together in photoshop, inspired by a poster I had when I was twelve of the 1984 cubs. That poster was a collage of watercolor illistrations, now I can do something like it on the computer in minutes!

Paris Letterman

I've just got to put down the mouse and walk away from photoshop...Here I have combined features of Paris Hilton's face with David Letterman's to see what thier daughter might look like. I know I have something better to do....
More fun with photoshop from someone who doesn't really know what they're doing, but playing with photoshop is just doggone fun!

Guess who's back?

O.J. inspired me while playing with photoshop
beginner playing with photoshop. I know I'm not the first to play with layers and the liquidizing tool, it's just too much fun

The Roots -

Ok, after checking out KRIVERA's Blog , the post with Tribe's video made me want to post a video fo my favorite hip-hop song of all time, The Roots "Seed (2.0)" But I can't!!! Universal, in a pathetic attempt to keep control fo their artists video, won't allow the video to be embeded! So I have to embed this video of a guy dancing to "Seed." Universal is clueless! Instead of promoting thier artist, now I'm promoting the guy dancing to their artist! WTF? I think this is a classic example of how giant media corporations don't know how to embrace the new media world and try and make it work for them. Oh, well. The guy dancing is pretty entertaining, and the song is great.
In Dmed 120 we have a semester long project of designing and laying out a magazine. This is my first draft of a logo for my mag. The concept is for a magazine covering the changing face of mass media. I made this quickly on freehand. This is a pretty simple logo with some fairly ordinary fonts. I really can't wait to learn how to use the more complex aspects of freehand and photoshop so I can make more sophisticated images. Anyway, let me know what you think. Also, I'm going to post some of the articles that I will use in the magazine, last year I wrote a couple of articles that will fit in pretty well... I hope.
golden retrievers all kind of look alike, so this is a picture of my dog!
